The DIF investment will
facilitate completion of the Phase I portion of the Garfield
Development located between Woodward and the Detroit Medical
Center off of Garfield Avenue. Phase I consists of the renovation
of two existing buildings into residential lease units and
the construction of several three to four-story, market-rate
residential and commercial structures. The Garfield Development
will make an important contribution to the initial revitalization
of a mostly blighted section of the Cultural Center Area.
