The 1001 Woodward Parking Garage is
a 750 space parking deck that is being developed by Sky Development,
LLC as a key component of a larger project including upgraded
office/commercial space on floors 1-12 and newly developed
condominiums on floors 13-21 of the 1001 Woodward Building.
The parking structure will stabilize the existing office building,
provide parking for new residents and provide Woodward frontage
for 18,250 square feet of first floor retail space.
The DIF financing provided funding for the predevelopment,
demolition and site improvements on the properties to the
north of the 1001 Building. The majority of the top two floors
of the parking deck (11-12) will be pre-sold to the adjacent
residential condominium development.
The majority of the remaining spaces will be marketed to commuters
desiring monthly parking and approximately 100 spaces will be
available for daily, hourly, and event parking. This project
which is located in the lower Woodward corridor will provide
jobs and serve as a catalyst for further redevelopment activity
in the area. The DIF financing was completed in partnership
with Charter One Bank.
